INGREDIENTS: Thermally activated gel with 0.15% Ketoconazole, and 1.0% Hydrocortisone
KETOCONAZOLE: An imidazole antifungal agent.
HYDROCORTISONE:A corticosteroid which may be used to aid in the treatment of pruritus, erythema and other signs of inflammation.
USES: KC Oto-Pack aids in the treatment of acute and chronic otitis and associated pruritus and inflammation in cases where ketoconazole and hydrocortisone might be effective. Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid which may be used to aid in the treatment of pruritus, erythema and other signs of inflammation.
Using the process of “reverse thermal gelation,” the viscosity of KC Oto-Pack increases once placed in the ear as it warms to the pet’s body temperature, thickening to a semi-solid state. KC Oto-Pack then coats the epithelial surface of the ear, releasing the ketoconazole and hydrocortisone slowly over a period of up to 7 days. If the indication for use persists, multiple weekly applications may be required. KC Oto-Pack does not require removal from the site of application as it is non-toxic and biodegradable.
Available in a 2 oz jar (54 mL). One 54 mL container contains enough product to pre-fill up to eighteen (18), 3 mL syringes which can be stored for further use.
